Abstract

The so-called “Canción Protesta” (Vanguard Music) emerged in Latin America by the early sixties, approximately. It conveys a specific political and religious discourse. The changes within this music, as far as its perception of God and Religion in concerned, are analysed in this article. Besides, the article discusses the most recurrent sociological topics of this continent in connection with the topic of religion.
