Abstract

Died at the age of 87, this Pampino by birth and from Iquique by vocation and work, saw the latest tests and discussed with the editor the pending details of this, the Second Volume (15). I knew him since I was a child as an apothecary at the Bristol Pharmacy and as an adult I spoke with him on one occasion, as a result of the research I carried out in Iquique during the 1980s on the workers' theater at the beginning of the century in the Norte Grande. This review aims to highlight some aspects of Luis Díaz Salinas' writing, such as his tremendous love for his land, and his experiences in a period in the history of saltpeter, whose work he personally knew in the pampas and in the main shipping port of the generous fertilizer.
