Abstract

Luis Urzúa Urzúa was a very prominent figure in the history of ecclesiastical cultural development in Antofagasta towards the end of the 1920s and the 1930s and 1940s. His vast literary culture led him to teach at the San Luis School in Antofagasta, which It was created by the German priests of the former Divine Word, incorporated into the then Apostolic Vicariate of Antofagasta, which was led by Monsignor Luis Silva Lezaeta, possibly the most influential in the entire north of Antofagasta, for his vast ecclesial-social work, as an intellectual. - cultural, superior in his imprint and projection of his work to Monsignor José María Caro or Martín Rucker, the prelates who exercised their authority in Iquique and were contemporaries of Silva Lezaeta.
